Terms

Last updated 8 October 2026

These terms cover your use of Hermit: the website, the app, the MCP server and the REST API, and the credit you get by burning $HRMT. By using Hermit you agree to them. Our Privacy page explains how we handle your data.

The service

Hermit stores memory for AI agents and gives it back to the agents and people you authorize. It is in beta: features change, things can break, and the service may be unavailable at times. Hermit is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted or error-free operation.

Keep your own copy of anything that matters. You can export your memory at any time.

Your account

You sign in with GitHub or a Solana wallet. You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your wallet, your GitHub account and your API keys secure. If a key leaks, revoke it in the app.

In a team, members can read, change and delete the team's shared memory. Only invite people you trust with it.

Acceptable use

Don't use Hermit to:

  • break the law or infringe anyone's rights;
  • store content that is illegal, or personal data about others that you have no right to process;
  • attack, overload, probe or reverse-engineer the service, or get around rate limits, credit or access controls;
  • access accounts, projects or data that aren't yours;
  • resell or redistribute the service without our permission.

We may limit or suspend access that breaks these rules or puts the service or other users at risk.

Your content

Memory you and your agents write stays yours. You give us only the permission we need to store it, process it and return it to you and the people you share it with. Don't store secrets on purpose: Hermit redacts the ones it recognizes, but it can't catch everything.

$HRMT and credit

  • $HRMT is a utility token used to get credit for Hermit. It comes with no promise of value, price, liquidity, return or future development, and it is not a share, a security or a claim on Hermit.
  • Nothing here is investment, financial, legal or tax advice. Do your own research, and only spend what you can afford to lose.
  • Burns are on-chain and irreversible. A burn destroys the tokens on Solana. We can't undo it, refund it or send the tokens back, including when a burn was made by mistake or with the wrong amount.
  • Credit is non-refundable and non-transferable. It has no cash value, can't be sold, withdrawn or moved to another account, and is used only for Hermit.
  • Check the mint. Only the mint address published on this site and in the app is $HRMT. Tokens with the same name are not ours. Never send tokens to the mint address or to anyone who messages you.
  • You are responsible for the wallet you use, for network fees, and for any taxes that apply to you.

Pricing changes

We may change what a read or a write costs, the free monthly allowance, and the credit you get per $HRMT burned. Changes apply from the moment they are announced on this site or on @useHermit, and credit you already have keeps its balance. The free allowance is a courtesy and may be reduced or ended.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent the law allows, Hermit and the people behind it are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, lost tokens or the price of tokens, arising from your use of the service or of $HRMT. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the credit you burned in the three months before the claim, valued at what you paid for it, or 50 US dollars.

Termination

You can stop using Hermit and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or if we have to for legal or security reasons, and we may discontinue the service. Where we can, we give notice first so you can export your memory. Unused credit is not refunded when an account is closed.

General

We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version, and significant changes are announced before they take effect. If you keep using Hermit after a change, you accept the new terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, and disputes go to the state or federal courts located in Delaware, unless the law where you live gives you rights that can't be waived. If part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
